Dr. Oestmann’s healthcare administration and management experience spans 25+ years in various administrative roles (e.g., CEO, hospital rehabilitation director; director of physical therapy; and independent healthcare consultant) with non-profit and for-profit healthcare institutions. He is currently part-owner in a local outpatient therapy clinic and continues some consulting work in healthcare related to personnel retention and quality improvement/Six Sigma programming. He travels around the country as a professional continuing education speaker with Summit Professional.
Dr. Oestmann also has 14 years of teaching experience with a variety of private and public universities (traditional brick-and-mortar venues since 1995 and online since 2001). He has taught and developed over 60 different healthcare administration and management related courses from the associate’s through doctoral levels. Additionally, he also serves as a Faculty-Student Advisor for the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Since 1995, he has written 24 books related to healthcare (Charles C. Thomas Publisher, VDM Publishing, and East-West Publishing) and published 19 research articles with emphasis on educational learning outcomes and best practices. Dr. Oestmann has also collaborated with educators and researchers in the U.S., Canada, Ireland, England, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Korea, and Japan on a variety of healthcare education programming with emphasis on increasing personnel morale, motivation, productivity, quality care delivery, and program evaluation. He continues to research work related to online teaching and learning strategies and outcomes.
