This course also focuses on major legislation and regulations affecting the development, implementation, and evaluation of health care programs for older adults. Through the use of case studies and other exercises, students explore organizational change in the twenty-first century in the context of aging policy, and synthesize legislative and regulatory issues and controversies that affect the health and health care of older adults in the United States, including political and public policy trends, the changing roles of governmental and private-sector agencies, and emerging elder and disability law issues. Prerequisites: HCM 525 and HCM 535.</p>
