In addition to teaching, Priscilla Sissem finds meaning through her work in faith-based nonprofit organizations, particularly organizations that emphasize world peace and that help to alleviate children’s suffering. Holding a PhD in Administration and Leadership Studies, with emphases in Sociology and Adult and Community Education, Priscilla works within the Amish and Mennonite community in Northern Indiana through her work at Menno-hof, an historical center that tells the story of Amish and Mennonite culture and faith.
She is also the Michiana-area Church Relations Coordinator for Operation Christmas Child, a project that collects and distributes shoebox gifts to needy children across the globe. Priscilla is also in the middle of program development, as she is creating a children’s peace activity center to be launched in Northern Indiana in 2011. In addition to teaching and service, Priscilla operates a private Spiritual Direction ministry, entitled Nachfolge Christi Ministries.
