Standards of Academic Progress

To remain in good academic standing, students are expected to maintain certain standards of satisfactory academic progress.

  • Undergraduate students must maintain a cumulative 2.00 grade point average (GPA) in all Marylhurst classes.
  • Graduate students must maintain a cumulative 3.00 grade  point average (GPA) in all Marylhurst classes.

Please review the Marylhurst course catalog for more information.

Completion of Requirements for Graduation

Evidence of the completion of all degree requirements (e.g., official test scores, official transcripts for transfer credit, final grades for incomplete and in progress courses, outcome assessment results, etc.) must be received by the Office of the Registrar within 21 calendar days of the last day of the term in which the student has applied to graduate. Students who have not fulfilled degree requirements by this date will automatically have their application ‘rolled’ forward to the next term. Applications for Graduation or Certificate Completion are valid for the original graduation term, plus three ‘rollovers’ (i.e. one academic year).
Students should strive to complete and record all transfer credits, outcome assessments, course challenges, credits by examination and other non-standard credits before they apply to graduate. Delays in recording these credits in the selected graduation term may result in delayed conferral of the degree to the next academic term.

Official documentation of transfer credits, credits by examination or other credits from outside sources must be received by the Office of Admissions within 21 calendar days of the last day of the graduation term. If official documentation is not received within the specified time, the student will be ineligible to graduate and the appliation to graduate will be ‘rolled’ forward to the following term. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the documentation has been received.

The advisor signature on the application for graduation affirms the advisor’s belief that (1) the student can reasonably complete or submit documentation of all requirements within the timeframe outlined above, and (2) the advisor has discussed all the remaining requirements with the student and feels confident that the student is aware of all remaining requirements and deadlines.
