Online MBA degree options designed for working professionals.

Marylhurst University, for the second year, leads all Oregon higher education institutions in enrollment in MBA programs, according to the Portland Business Journal Book of Lists, and also was ranked tops in enrollment in the Oregon Business Magazine 2010 Power Book. Marylhurst is regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, and its business degrees have received specialized accreditation from the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education. The university offers two online MBA degree programs with a total of 10 concentration areas of study, in addition to several campus-based MBA program options.

“Online learning is especially appealing to working professionals,” said Alain Gracianette, chair of the MBA department at Marylhurst University. “Working managers need more information and training than ever before to do their jobs, but there’s little opportunity to take leave from work.”

Gracianette said the soft economy and high unemployment rate in Portland and other cities around the country simply underscore the need for distance learning MBA degree programs.

“People will not leave their positions to attend school,” said Gracianette. “In this economy, people want to grow in the positions they already have rather than risk entering an uncertain job market in the future.”

Marylhurst’s online MBA degree programs can be completed in as little as 18 months. The university is especially well suited to provide distance learning MBA degree programs in addition to its traditional classroom-based options.

“Marylhurst’s dedication to excellence in management and leadership is evident,” said Bob Hanks, director of business and real estate programs at Marylhurst. “We’ve developed outstanding MBA degree programs in some very dynamic and challenging management fields. Our programs meet the students where they are. By enabling students to learn online and offering year-round admission, we deliver the high-caliber MBA degree programs that today’s marketplace demands.”
