Sustainable business MBA programs can equip students with the skills necessary to implement green changes within organizations, which may in turn improve their environmental standing.
PortionPac Chemical Corporation, a manufacturer of cleaning products, is one organization that is being recognized for the action it has taken toward becoming a greener company.
In an attempt to balance 100 percent of its energy use from all sources, PortionPac will invest in Climate Action Reserve and VerifiedCarbon Standard-certified projects that are offered through the company TerraPass. In addition, the organization will purchase Green-E-certified Renewable Energy Credits through Renewable Choice.
On Earth Day, the company purchased 656,000 kilowatt-hours of green power, which they will continue to do on an annual basis.
As a result of its commitment to using green power, PortionPac has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a Green Power Partner.
"Business has great power to affect change and we choose to leverage that power to send a message to others across the U.S. that supporting clean sources of electricity is a sound business decision and an important choice in reducing climate risk," said Burt Klein, president of PortionPac.
